The preliminary catalogue of Yale University shows an increase in number of students over last year as follows: In the Academic department 62; in the Scientific department 82. Below are the tables:

In the freshman class about the same number comes from either Connecticut or New York, and more than four times as many come from either of these states as from any other.
It is interesting to note that the increase in the Academical department at Harvard is about 180.
