The day of prayer set for colleges was very fittingly observed by the members of the Young Men's Christian Association at their rooms in Lawrence Scientific School. Mr. A. A. Berle, Gr., addressed the meeting on the "New Life," showing how necessary it was for the student class to take up the work of religion. After Mr. Berle's short talk a good part of the meeting was given up to devotion, different members offering prayer. The president then read reports from Amherst and Oberlin colleges, showing very satisfactory results of the work done there. At Oberlin especially the religious feeling is pretty thoroughly permeated through the college by means of five minute exercises of prayer held before each recitation. The resignation of the secretary, Mr. D. C. Torrey, was accepted.
