From the annual report of the president of the Institute of Technology, an increase of 28 students has been made over last year, bringing the total up to 937. Improvements have been made in the Engineering building, and several new instructors have been appointed; G. R. Carpenter, Harvard '86, as associate professor of English, J. Sondericker as assistant professor of Applied Mechanics, Mr. E. B. Howe as associate professor of Architecture, and Dr. Harry Taylor as assistant professor of Mathematics.
The cataloguing of the library is being pushed forward. It contains 18,000 volumes and more than 8,000 pamphlets. The funds of the school have been increased by $64,570.
