8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Rev. Frederick Augustus Farley is the sole surviving member of the class of '18 and therefore the senior alumnus of the college.
He graduated from the Divinity School in the class of 1828 and was ordained the same year. In the following year he received the honorary degree of A. M. from both Harvard and Brown, and in 1850 Harvard conferred upon him the degree of S. T. D.
Dr. Farley has spent his life partly in Providence, R. L., and partly in Brooklyn, N. Y., in charge of Unitarian congregations. At present he resides in Brooklyn, where he is pastor emeritus of a Unitarian church. He is the author of several works relating to the church and like matters. His photograph hangs in the college library.
Dr. Farley is now very old and infirm, being nearly ninety years of age. The most distinguished member of his class, which consisted of eighty one members, was probably Mr. Sidney Bartlett, who died but a short time ago.
