The fifth annual championship games of the association take place on Holmes Field this afternoon for the cup presented last year by Harvard undergraduates. There are at present eight schools in the association. of which each has a nearly equal chance for the cup. Among these are Worcester, Hopkinson's and Roxbury Latin, which will probably be the order of the winners. There are thirteen events on the programme, with an average entry of over thirteen. There are in all 174 entries made by ninety-three individuals. In the 100 yards dash the best men are Sherwin, R. L., who was second last year; Rice, Noble's, Hurd and Dove, Hopkinson's; and Starr, Worcester. In the 220 yards dash, the same men, together with Brewer of Hopkinson's. In the 440 yards, Brewer and Hurd of Hopkinson's, and Wheelwright, R. L., will make the race. Brewer has a practice record of 52 1-5 sec. In the 880. Batchelder, R. L., (brother of Batchelder '92) Adams. R. L., Howland, Hallowell and Frothingham, Hopkinson's, will run. In the walk, J. H. Bell, Hopkinson's, with a record of 7.30, will win. Blake, Vi., and Morgan, W. A., will be close for second place. In the hurdle race Hoag R. L., Marvel, W. A., Hurd and Robinson, Hopkinson's, are the men from whom the winner will come. In the bicycle race Fenner, W. A. and champion of Worcester County, will race against Olmstead, R. L. In the high jump Sherwin, R. L., and Riggins, W. A., are the only good men. Sherwin has a record of 5 ft. 6 5-8 in. In the broad jump Brewer, Hopkinson's, has done 21 feet in practice, and is expected to do better; Dove, Hopkinson's, will be second; he has done nearly 20 feet. In the shot, Moore of Worcester has done 31 ft. 10 in. Saltonstall, Hopkinson's, has thrown the 12 lb. hammer 94 ft. Shea, B. L., is another good man at the shot. Throwing the base ball has Rice, Worcester, and Frothingham, Hopkinson's. The pole vault will be the best event. Sherwin, R. L. has done over 10 ft. R. F. Curry, Vi., has done 10 ft. 6 1-2 in., while W. Curry, Vi., and Hoag and Wheelwright, R. L., have all done 9 ft. 6 in. When it is considered that Leavitt '89, Crane '90 and Mason '91, are the only Harvard men, past or present, who have ever beaten this lowest figure, it will be seen that the quality of the entries is by on means low.

The following men will act as officials this afternoon: Referee, S. B. Morrison '83; judges, C. H. Kip '83, G. S. Mandell '89, S. W. Beals '83, E. C. Sturgis '90; measurers, E. T. Cabot '79; W. Myer '90; timers, J. S. Lathrop, F. M. Wood, R. D. Sears; judge of walking, H. H. Bemis '87; starter, H. S. Cornish; clerk of course, R. S. Hale '91; assistant clerks of course, F. Allen '93, N. T. Robb '93; scorer, R. B. Beals, I. S. A. A.; assistant scorer, J. H. Hunt '92.
