In order to promote advanced study and research in the Modern Languages and Literatures, the departments of English, German, French and Romance Philology have decided to establish a Modern Language Conference. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday. May 14, at 4 p. m., in Sever 11.
The following papers will be presented: Mr. J. M. Manly,- "Some Observations on the Language of Chaucer;" Mr. H. McCulloch,- "An Historical Study of the French Ballads;" Mr. W. H. Carruth,- "The Beginnings of National Consciousness in Germany." All members of the university are invited.
