The freshmen won from the English High School yesterday in a game characterized by loose fielding and hard but untimely batting. There was a little improvement in the coaching, but there is still great room for advancement. Fearing made two inexcusable errors at first, and neither he nor third baseman covers enough ground.

The lack of a field captain was very noticeable yesterday, several men running for the same ball. The batting was heavy enough, but the freshmen did not bunch their hits when the bases were full, only one hard hit bringing in two runs. Appended is the score.
