The Whist tournament under the suspices of the Chess and Whist club which was begun about two weeks ago was finished Tuesday night. The following pairs were entered: Harrison Bros.; E. A. Darling and P. K. Brown; H. Tallant and F. W. Burlingham; R. S. Hale and J. A. Stetson; P. Y. DeNormandie and F. S. Rogers; W. B. Greenleaf, and K. Brown; R. B. Hale and H. H. Baker; B. H. Dickson and J. Crane, jr.; S. Adams and J. S. Coole; H. S. Potter and W. D. Orcutt. Each match was for twenty five points and the prize was awarded to the pair making the greatest number of points in all matches. Hale and Stetson won first place with 222 points out of a possible 225, an average of 24.66. The other pairs did not complete their matches as the first pair could not be beaten by any who have lost a match by more than three points.
