Tug-of-war Teams.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A meeting of the candidates for the '90 tug-of-war team was to have been held Monday afternoon but no one appeared. It is to be deeply regretted that '90 showed no interest in the organization of a team, for unless all the classes are to be represented at the winter meeting there cannot well be a tug-of-war contest, as a three sided competition is unfair for one of the teams. It is to be hoped that sufficient '90 men will come forward to organize. That there is good material is well known and it should certainly be incumbent on every available man to come forward. The management of the team has been given to R. Jones, '90, for the time being, and another meeting of candidates will be held in the trophy room of the gymnasium this afternoon. A full attendance is requested.

Yesterday afternoon a meeting of candidates for the '91 team was held in the sparring room of the gymnasium. Among the candidates was J. J. Higgins, the anchor of last year's '91 team, who will have the team in charge for the present.
