Foot Ball Practice.

The crowd which turned out for the foot ball practise yesterday afternoon did some very lusty cheering throughout the game. The practise began shortly after three o'clock and with a short intermission continued till almost five. The noteworthy feature of the play was the team work and general good play of the second eleven. The first eleven seemed to be still a trifle tired after their hard game on Saturday and unable to play with much snap, and the result was that the second eleven backs made long gains through the 'varsity rush-line. White scored two touch downs for the second eleven, making one of them from almost the centre of the field. Burgess also made some very good rushes.

The interference of the 'varsity was good at times; but at other times the rushers left all the work for the backs to do. Corbett, Lake and Trafford all made good gains, but did not rush brilliantly. Trafford, however, kicked some pretty goals from the field.

The 'varsity was made up just as in the game on Saturday. Dexter wrenched his knee early in the game and had to be taken from the field. His injury, however will not prove serious. Vail took his place for a few minutes and then limped off the field, Highlands taking his place on the first eleven. On the second eleven Rantoul and Berry played the guards in very good style; with Shea between them they formed a very good centre for the second eleven's wedge.

Mr. Lathrop and coachers Stewart and Adams were on the field, but did comparatively little coaching. John Cranston was also out and put a great deal of life into the second eleven. Gardner Perry, of the Law School was umpire and referee.
