The match between Chase, the winner of this year's tournament, and Tallant, the college champion, for the championship of the college, was played off yesterday afternoon on Jarvis. The courts were in good condition and everything favorable to a good match except the sun in the upper court which necessitated a change of courts every two games. Tallant did not seem in his usual form while Chase played a strong, winning game from the start although he lost the first two games to Tallant. The games stood four to three in Tallant's favor when Chase took the next three games and set.

Chase, 0 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 1-6

Tallant, 1 1 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 0-4

Tallant began the second set by taking the net but lost the first three games through Chase's fine side fine drives. Chase played Tallant on his fore hand where he seemed to be the weaker, and won the next four out of seven games and the set.

Chase, 1 1 1 0 1 0 1 0 1-6

Tallant, 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 0-3

In the third set Chase continued to put up his strong game while Tallant weakened except in the fourth and fifth games which he won by good placing. Chase took the next three games and the championship.

Chase, 1 1 1 0 0 1 1 1-6

Tallant, 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0-2
