'91 vs. C. H. S.

The Cambridge High School football team played a short game against the seniors yesterday afterday on Norton's field, the result being a tie. The Cambridge boys played a very pretty game. Their tackling, blocking and falling on the ball were excellent; they played together well and played with snap. The seniors on the other hand played wretchedly. There was no team work, snap nor skill. The men paid too much attention to their opponents and too little to the ball. Whenever a man gained anything he did so entirely by his own efforts, there being almost always nobody near to back him up. Weld played a good game at full-back and Harris rushed with energy but with small headwork. The rush line work was miserable. Some of the men in it were out of condition and the others did not know how to play. The teams were as follows: Cambridge-Rushers: Arnold, Page, Dyer, Haines, Davenport, Benshimol, Thayer. Quarterback, Wrenn; halves, Whitman and Stark; full-back, Raymond.
