Princeton defeated Yale yesterday afternoon by a score of 14 to 11. The game was most exciting throughout. Thefielding of both teams was poor and the contest became a battle of pitchers and batsmen. In the first part of the game Stagg showed himself to be a superior pitcher to Ames, but the loose fielding of the Yale men seemed to discourage Stagg, and during the latter part of the game his pitching was much less effective The features of the game were the heavy batting of McClintock, Calhoun and Payne. Noyes, Yale's captain, did not seem to play as well as usual and his three errors were costly. Every man on Princeton's team did good work at some part of the game, but the only Yale men who really played good ball were Calhonn, McBride and McClintock. Appended is the score.
