Improvements at Princeton.

During the past year or so Princeton has received a large number or bequests, to be devoted towards the founding of new professorships and scholarships, and the building of new halls. The money received amounts in all to something over $250,000, of which Mrs. David Brown of Princeton contributes $75,000 for a new dormitory, to be ready for use by next fall. Mrs. R. L. Stewart of New York has given $25,000 to the college, to be used for founding a new professorship. The trustees of the John C. Green estate have given $80,000 to defray the expenses of the new chemical hall. This hall will be situated on Nassau street, near the present science hall and will probably be finished next fall. Another hall-a hall for the new school of electrical engineering-will soon be built. This school will open next fall, and will be equipped with excellent apparatus, for the purchase of which sufficient money has already been subscribed.

C. C. Cuyler has established a new prize, the income of $1000, to be called the Theodore Cuyle Prize in Economics; another prize of the same amount has been founded by Mr. T. B. Wanamaker, and it is to be called the Thomas B. Wanamaker English Language Prize. Besides these, five $1000 scholarships have been founded, and a considerable amount has been contributed for additions to the library and the library fund.
