Rev. Dr. McKenzie conducted the service at Appleton Chapel last evening in place of Rev. Thomas G. Milsted who was unavoidably hindered from being present. The text chosen by the speaker was from the Epistle of paul to the Colossians, chapter I: 16. Paul was truly inspired in his work and what he spoke was profound and came straight from the heart. He was an energetic man in whatever he did, and was thoroughly alive to all that surrounded him, thus being able to appreciate and take in the spirit of God when it was revealed to him. We, in whatever work we may be striving, can not hope to have his Spirit revealed to us unless we are wide awake to the world about us.
The choir sang anthems by Mozart and Withington, also a hymnal of the Old Church time (17th Century).
