The following letter has been received the from the Corporation in regard to the petition for electric lights in the library:
At a meeting of the President and Fellows of Harvard College, in Boston, March 11th, 1889, information was received as to the cost of lighting the college library by electricity, and as to the safety of the several methods proposed, and it was.
Voted, That the petitioners for electric lights in the library be informed that the Corporation considers action in the matter at present to be inexpedient.
