New Shell for the Yale Navy.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

New shells have been ordered for both the Yale university and freshman crews, and work upon them is so far advanced that it will not be many weeks before they are ready for use. According to the contract, the freshman shell will be due on April 1st, and the university shell on May 1st, and it is possible that the work may be done before those dates. Each boat will be made of paper and will in every way be similar to those of last year. The oars have not yet been ordered, but in all probability they will not be dissimilar to those used by the '88 crews. The contract has been placed in the hands of Waters, of Troy, and his name is a sufficient guarantee that the work will be entirely satisfactory. The price of each shell will be $400. Until the new shells are ready the crews are obliged to row in the old ones, which have been renovated to suit all requirements.
