The Athletic committee for the year is made up as follows: Professor J. W. White (chairman), Professor W. E. Byerly, Professor A. B. Hart, Dr. Walcott, Morrison, '83, Hooper '79, Tilton, '90, Crosby, '91, Rantoul, '92.
The following regulations adopted last year by the committee on athletic sports, were readopted at the first meeting of the present committee.
1. No person shall assume the functions of trainer or instructor in athletics upon the grounds, or within the buildings of the college, without authority in writing from the committee.
2. No student shall take part in the contests of the Athletic Association or join the Base Ball, Foot Ball, Bicycle, Lacrosse or Rowing associations as an active member, without the previous permission of the Director of the Gymnasium, based upon such physical examinations as he may require.
3. No schedule of games arranged by any athletic organization can take effect until it has been approved by the committee.
4. No match games, race, or athletic contests shall take place in Cambridge except after the last recitation hour on Saturdays, and after four o'clock in the afternoon on other days.
5. All match games, races, or athletic contests outside of Cambridge shall take place upon Saturday, unless permission for another day is first obtained from the committee in writing.
6. Any athletic organization making use of college buildings or grounds for match games, races or athletic contests, will be held responsible for the good order of participants and spectators, during the time of occupancy.
7. Captains and officers of the various athletic organizations will be held responsible for the observance of the above rules by members of their organizations; and for such further regulations as may be communicated to them by the committee.
