Rev. R. C. Smith of Trinity Church, Boston, conducted a short Episcopal service in the rooms of the St. Paul's Society last evening. Rev. Mr. Smith did not choose a text for his sermon but spoke on the qualities of a true gentleman. He said that the Episcopal clrurch had been accused of being a church for gentlemen. He hoped that this was true, and that the members were all gentlemen in the true sense of the word. A gentleman must scorn everything dishonorable. He must lead a spiritual life through faith in Jesus Christ. He should study Christ through the Bible as he would study any great character in history, and make him his hero. He should keep the example of Christ before him in his daily life. Such a gentleman could not tolerate anything dishonorable, impure or intemperate. It should be the desire of every member of St. Paul's Society to be known as such a gentleman.
