The weekly service in Appleton Chapel was conducted last evening by the Rev. Theodore C. Williams of New York. He took for his text "The way of the transgressor is hard," and endure hardness as the followers of Jesus Christ. He said that the difficulties into which our sins bring us are not invigorating but destructive. Life is a series of petty skirmishes not for ourselves but for others. The choir sang the following selections: "Lord of all power and might," Mason; "The Sun shall be no more," Woodward; "Lovely appear over the mountains," Gounod.
