He said that the difficulties into which our sins bring us are not invigorating but destructive. Life is a series of petty skirmishes not for ourselves but for others. The choir sang the following selections: "Lord of all power and might," Mason; "The Sun shall be no more," Woodward; "Lovely appear over the mountains," Gounod.
