Andover, 10; Second Eleven, 0.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The second eleven played the Andover team Saturday afternoon at Andover and were defeated by score of 10 to 0.

Harvard winning the toss, Johnson started with the ball but was soon stopped. Both sides were forced to kick after three downs, and no gain. Hallowell blocked Andover's kick near the goal. A kick for goal was tried but was missed. Harvard soon got the ball again, but Crane in making a rush was so badly hurt that Moen had to take his place. Andover by short rushes and four downs of Harvard, near the goal line, succeeded in making a touchdown in 20 minutes. No goal. Score 4-0. Johnson again started with the ball but made no gain. Andover got a dropped ball and two runs around the ends and several shoves secured another touchdown in ten minutes. Goal. Score 10-0. Moen worked the ball to the ten yard line from which another unsuccessful at tempt was made to kick a goal. Time was called soon after.

Harvard started the second half with more life but was unable to score. Early in the half Johnson made a splendid kick three-fourths the length of the field. Dodge followed it up well and secured a free kick on Stone's poor return at the twenty-five yard line. A place kick for goal was tried but went about a foot from the goal. Campbell prevented Andover from gaining ground by breaking through the rush line three times in succession. Moen and Dennison by hard work carried the ball well into Andover's territory. But a dropped ball at a critical time gave Andover a chance to send it to the middle of the field, where it stayed by the good work of Hallowell and Vail until time was called. The teams were made up as follows:

Andover-Rushers: Gilbert, Colt, Taylor, McDuffie (centre), Addis, Cochrane, Hinkey; quarter-back, McCormick; halfbacks, Brown and Stevens, fullback, stone.

Harvard Second Eleven-Rushers: Hill, Allwood, Fitzhugh, Vail (centre), Campbell, Cummings, Dodge; quarterback, Hallowell; halfbacks, Crane, (Moen), Dennison; fullback, Johnson.
