CAMBRIDGE, 16 STOUGHTON, Jan 9. Mr. G. T. Keyes, President H. U. B. C.
DEAR SIR: I have come to the conclusion that no sophomore ought ever to be captain of the crew. I therefore send you my resignation. I shall do my best to row on the crew this year, and only take this step because I think that under an older captain we shall have a better chance for that victory we desire so much.
Yours very truly, J. R. FINLAY.At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Boat Club, yesterday afternoon, Mr. Finlay's resignation was accepted. The members of last year's crew were called together in the evening and elected Mr. R. F. Herrick, '90, as his successor.
