The board of overseers of the university held its annual meeting on Wednesday of this week in Boston. The president of the board, Hon. C. R. Codman, was absent, and Mr. Linccln presided in his place. The committee on elections reported that the following gentlemen had been chosen members of the board: For six years, William G. Russell, Samnel H. Green, Charles Francis Adams, Charles C. Beaman and Augustus Hemenway; for five years, Robert T. Peadbody; for four years, Stephen M. Weld; for two years, Henry W. Torrey. These names were approved by the board, and Hon. Charles R. Codman was re-elected president. Charles Harrington, M. D., was appointed an instructor in material medical and hygiene; Henden Winslow, B. A. S., M. D. V., in material medical and botany; D. D. Lee, M. D. V., in anatomy and veterinary surgery; F. E. Cheney, M. D., in ophthalmology; E. C. Beckett, M. D. V., superintendent of the veterinary hospital.
The following proctors were reappointed: A. H. Lloyd, C. T. Billings, G. P. Furber, O. R. Hansen and S. A. Bailey. B. W. Palmer and Hollis Webster were appointed new proctors.
