The junior class nine defeated the Adams Academy team yesterday afternoon by a score of 20 to 5. The Adams Academy team played a strong fielding game but were unable to find the ball at critical points, while '89 hatted hardmaking 19 hits with a total of 24. Downer pitched a fine game and was well supported by Bigelow. The '89 team was accompanied by Mr. Whittridge, who proved himself to be the "mascot" that the nine has been so eagerly seeking.
