The American Athletic Union will hold an indoor meeting, Jan. 19, 1889, at the Madison Square Garden to commemorate the second year of its formation. All the events are open to amateurs, and three prizes will be awarded in each event. The following events will be contested: 75-yards dash, 220-yards dash, 440-yards dash, half-mile run, mile run, mile walk, two-mile bicycle race, 200-yards hurdle race, pole vault, standing broad jump, running high jump, putting the 24-lb. shot and throwing the 56-lb. weight. The entrance fee will be one dollar in each event.
