The winners of the preliminary rounds in the chess tournament are, with two exceptions now known. Section A, Webster vs. Sturgis; section B, Chamberlin vs. R. D. Brown; section C, F. M. Brown vs.-; section D, Nicolls vs.- These men are requested to make engagements with each other as soon as convenient, as the committee wishes to have the tournament settled, if possible, before the recess. The following games have been reported: Webster beat Sturgis, Everett beat Green, F. M. Brown beat Pearson, Hapgood beat Greenleaf, Nicolls beat Brackett, Chamberlain beat Carter. A number of men have not yet paid their entrance fee. They will please pay as promptly as possible to the committee, No. 35 Matthews Hall.
