The meeting of the Unitarian Club of Boston, held last Wednesday night, was without doubt one of the most successful events in the history of the club. An exceptionally large number of members attended, and at the business meeting, held previous to the dinner, Prof. E. Channing of Harvard, Mr. W. Warren and Mr. S. Lincoln were appointed a committee to nominate a list of officers for the coming year. Hon. L. Salstonstall presided at the dinner, and amougst those present were Rev. Dr. A. P. Peabody, Mr. E. Atkinson, Professors Emerton and Channing of Harvard, Mayor-elect Hart, and Rev. John G. Brooks, who has addressed many previous college conference meetings, and who will address the next one. After dinner an interesting essay on "Creeds considered as an obstruction to the progress of religion" was read by Mr. Edward Atkinson, the principal guest of the evening. Rev. Dr. Peabody made a short address, and after a few other speeches the meeting adjourned at 10 p. m.
