Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Captain Finley, of the University Crew, has determined that the candidates for next year's crew shall have the benefit of a rowing tank in which to practice during the coming winter, and he is making every effort to accomplish his purpose. It was at first hoped that arrangements could be made to have the tank placed in the Hemenway gymnasium, but permission to do this has been absolutely refused by the authorities. There is no doubt, however, that permission will be granted to build the tank in the old gymnasium, opposite Memorial Hall, which is at present unoccupied. This will increase the cost of the tank considerably, since in the new gymnasium many of the necessary arrangements are already perfected. It is not yet determined how the cost of building will be met. The tank will probably be modelled after the one now in use by the Yale crew.
