The annual convention of Theta Delta Chi fraternity opened at the Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York on Thursday last. One hundred and fifty delegates from colleges throughout the United States, including representatives from the Harvard and Yale chapters, were present. The afternoon was devoted to the usual business meeting; the reports showed the fraternity to be in a flourishing condition. The meetings held on Friday were devoted to the consideration of applicants of new chapters for admittance. In the evening the delegates attended a supper at the Brunswick Hotel. Mr. A. G. Heterington presided. The Rev. Lewis Halsey of Geneva, N. Y., read the poem of the evening: it was followed by a number of informal toasts. Among the prominent members present were Professor Brewer, of Yale, President Smith, of Trinity, and President Capen, of Tufts.
