At a meeting of the directors of the Co-operative Society Wednesday evening it was decided to declare a dividend of two-thirds of the net surplus of last year's earnings.

This amounts to $1493 59 and is divided among the seven hundred and seventy-one members in sums ranging from a few cents to something over fourteen dollars. The amounts have been computed and may be seen at the office of the society during its business hours.

To avoid the sudden drain upon the funds of the society the members will be paid by hundreds, one hundred being chosen each week by lot.

The payments will be made by check and will begin early next week.
