The Harvard Annex.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard Annex opened this fall under prosperous conditions. For nine years this institution has existed, while each succeeding year has shown a gradual increase in the number of students. This year the increase is particularly large, there being at present a total of 98, while at no time last year did the number exceed eighty. The number of specials has increased much over that of last year. Many new courses have been added to last year's list, the most important of which are those of the Latin, Greek, English and French departments. An extensive physical laboratory was built during the summer for the higher classes in physics. The names of two new instructors have been added to last year's roll-Mr. J. R. Wheeler in the Greek department, and Mr. F. C. Huntington in Political Economy.

The officers of the Annex are: Mrs, Louis Agassiz, president; Mr. Arthur Gilman, secretary; Miss Alice M. Longfellow, treasurer.
