The following subjects have been announced for undergraduates who wish to compete for the Cobden Club medal, offered under the auspices of the Finance Club:
1. The duties on wool and woolens.
2. Shall the State assume the control of the Railways?
3. The effect of the legal tender quality on the value of paper money.
4. Profit sharing.
The regulations as to length, paper, assumed name, are the same as those for the Bowdoin prizes, contained in the university catalogue. Essays must be handed to the Secretary of the Harvard Finance Club before Dec, 15, 1886. Other subjects may be chosen if handed in to the Secretary of the Finance Club for approval by the committee of award.
