It is the intention of the base-ball management to have class games this spring, the schedule for which will soon be published.
There will be engraved silver cups offered for the winning class nine; and there will also be a cup offered for the best batting, and another for the best pitching record in these games.
Members and substitutes of the University nine for 1886 will not be eligible for class nines.
In addition to these the association will offer engraved cups for the nine winning the so-called "amateur college championship," provided that there are at least four entries If there are eight or more entries two sets of cups will be offered, for first and second places Any member of the University who has never played on, or been a substitute for, either the University or class nines shall be eligible for such "amateur" nines.
All entries for such nines containing the names of the players and captains must be sent to me or or before Thursday, May 4. The games will be played in the morning, and a schedule will be published soon after the close of the entries.
A. B. POTTER, Manager.
