As the base ball season draws nearer the candidates for the different nines are beginning to make preparations to practice.
Last year's 'varsity nine and substitutes will not start practicing until after the mid-year examinations. All new candidates for the 'varsity nine will begin practicing in the cage at the Carey building the first of next week, probably on Monday. It is fortunate that all but two of last year's 'varsity nine are back in college. Dean and Alward are the only members of last year's nine who did not return this fall.
Candidates for the freshman nine will be under the direction of Louis Frothingham '93, Captain of the 'varsity nine. He will soon appoint a temporary captain of the freshmen.
A meeting of the candidates for the freshman nine will be held this evening at quarter past seven in the Trophy Room of the gymnasium. Freshmen can practice any time during the day in the cage in the gymnasium. All '95 men interested in base ball are urged to present themselves for practice, which will probably commence Friday.
