The following statement of actual expenses of the University crew, not the boat club, for 1883 84, has been compiled for reference in connection with the discussion on that subject:

Total expenses (including $1,746 unpaid bills), $6,848

Deduct cash on hand at end of year, 103

Total, $6,745

Deduct debt of year before, which was paid off, $1,770

Total annual expenses, 1883-84, $4,975

The expenses of the Yale crew, according to the News, were $7,000. Whether this amount includes the debt of the year before, or not, is not known.
