Although several of Yale's best men have left college. Captain Murphy has a large number of candidates in training and Yale will probably put as strong a nine in nine in as ever. For a month now light general training has been going on, much the same as in Cambridge. Gymnasium exercise and a run supplementing the base sliding and infielding practised in the cage.

Beginning next Monday Henry Gruber, an ex-national league pitcher, will pitch to the candidates three days a week in the cage. Batting hours will then be arranged for the men. The following is a list of the candidates: For catcher, Cole '94, S., H. T. Jackson '92, S.; for pitcher, Case '94, Bowers '92, Davis '95, Ridgeway '92, Hatch '92, S., and Warner, '94; for first baseman, Carter '95; for second baseman, Beall '93, S., Norton, L. S., Kustin '94 S., and Harvey '93; for third baseman, Kedzie '93, S., L. T. Bliss '93, S., Hewlett '94, S., Rustin '94, Sheffield '94, S., Hackett '93, Arbuthnot '94, and Tanyane M. S.; for other positions, Bigelow '94, Dickerman '93, Henry '94, Case '94, Harvey '93, and Hotchkiss '94 S.
