Henshaw '89 went to Princeton last Saturday to witness the Yale-Princeton championship game, which was postponed on account of rain.

The new racing shell built by John Blakey of Cambridge for the sophomore crew was tried by the 'varsity and found to carry them so well that an order was given for a boat for the 'varsity. It will be of the same dimensions as the '91 boat, viz.: 61 feet long, 24 inches beam, 61/2 inches deep at the bow and 5 3-4 at the stern.

Ex-President Barnard, of Columbia College, died last Saturday. Born at Sheffield Mass., in 1809, be entered in 1824, graduated with high honors in 1828 and became a tutor there. From 1837 to 1839 he was professor of mathematics and natural history in the University of Alabama. He remained there until 1854, when he became professor of astronomy in the University of Mississippi. In 1856 he was elected president of the University of Mississippi, and in 1864 became president of Columbia College.
