These lectures. to be given on Saturdays during the first half-year, are intended for the guidance of those who have in mind a somewhat extended course of study in Classics. Any student who is taking courses in Greek or Latin is at liberty to attend them.

SENIOR FORENSICS.The first senior forensic will be returned to section 1 (Abbott to W. T. Crocker) on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 3 to 4.30, in Sever 1.

The second forensic will be due on Tuesday, Dec. 18, from 3 to 4.30, in Sever 1. Subjects : 1. Is the minority more likely to be right than the majority?

2. Why is over-production impossible?

3. How far can there be the same ethical standard for the conduct of states and of individuals?

4. The influence of Rousseau on the French Revolution.

5. Edmund Burke as orator and statesman.

JUNIOR FORENSICS.The first junior forensic will be returned to section 1 (Alderson to Davis) on Thursday, Nov. 22, from 2.30 to 4.30 P. M., in Sever 1.

The time of returning forensics to volunteer sections (senior and junior) will be announced hereafter.

JUNIOR THEMES.Mr. Wendell will criticize Theme II. before the junior class in Sever 11, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 2 o'clock. Those who have a conflict at 2 will kindly come at 3.

Theme II. will be returned to section 1 (Alderson to Hull) on Thursday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 4.30.

SOPHOMORE THEMES.Theme I. will be due on Thursday, Nov. 22. Subjects : The Result of the State Election; A translation of Livy, I., 24-25; A translation of Herodotus, I., 86-87; A review of Anthony Trollope's Autobiography; Boston Streets on the evening of Election Day; Mrs. Norris (in Miss Austen's "Mansfield Park"); The Story of the Princess Nausicaa.
