The second game of the Beacon-Harvard series was played on Saturday before an audience of about 300, and resulted in an easy victory for our nine. The wind blew strong from the west and proved very detrimental to the batsmen. Boyden, '85 pitched for the nine, and showed up very well, but six hits were made off him, while seven of the Beacons struck out. Tilden caught during the first three innings, and was then relieved by Allen, who played out the game without an error. Brackett did not prove a very effective pitcher for the Beacons. The fielding of the nine was good, and in marked contrast to that of their opponents, who made many costly errors. The feature of the game was a fine each by Phillips, who caught a high ball far out beyond second base. The batting of Baker and Cooledge was very accurate, each making three safe hits. Smith and Richardson also showed up well at the bat. The score follows:
