Yale confidently expected that their nine would win on Saturday, as the following from a Yale paper, shows: "As this is our first game with Harvard which counts for the championship it is of especial interest. From the result of the exhibition game at Cambridge we can be reasonably confident of the result of today's game, still a glance at the score of the exhibition game will show that a little more luck in bunching the hits by Harvard would have altered the score materially. A close game may be expected, and all who can, should go and give the nine all the encouragement in their power."
