AN END TO INTER-COLLEGIATE REGULATIONS.

Messrs. Sloane of the college of New Jersey, Sargent of Harvard, Professor Van Vleck of Wesleyan University, Professor Goodwin of Columbia, and Professor Morton of Harvard, met at Columbia College Tuesday, and addressed a circular to each college interested, to the effect that as there is no prospect that the details of the plan will be received with general favor, no further move will be made by the committee. The resolution to which the greatest objection was offered was that which provides that no college organization shall row, or play base-ball, foot-ball, lacrosse, or cricket, except with similar organizations from their own or other institutions of learning.
