The Freshman Crew,

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

I desire to call the attention of the freshmen to the notice of Captain Wood in this morning's paper. It is an old Harvard saying that in order to win a boat race work must be begun the year before. The freshmen ought to realize that if they want to see themselves creditably represented in the class races, or to win their race on the Thames with the Columbia freshmen, they must go to work with a will, and that too, without delay.

Every member of the freshman class who weighs one hundred and forty-five pounds or more and is in sound health ought to consider himself entitled to a seat in the boat. If '88 is going to support her captain, and wishes to meet with success in this branch of athletics it seems to me that there should be at least fifty candidates at the captain's room tonight.

J. J. STORROW, Jr., Captain H. U. B. C.
