In the singles yesterday Warren beat Codman, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, in the second drawing, and in the third drawing Taylor beat Rockwell, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, and Butler beat Cole, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. The following doubles were also played: D. C. Clark and Rathbone beat Burrage and Burrage, 2-6, 6-3, 8-5; J. S. Clark and Denniston beat Austin and Bradley, 6-2, 6-1, and also (second drawing) beat Taylor and Bonsal, 6-3, 6-0. The management wish to complete tomorrow all but the final sets, and also the second drawing in the doubles. All sets must be played on the tournament courts, unless otherwise agreed by both parties.
