The contested events in the class sports took place yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The '86 100-yard dash was contested by Baker and Stebbins and was won by the former in 10 1/2 seconds. The '85 100-yards was won by A. S. Johnson over F. S. Billings in 10 2-5 seconds. The entries for the '86 220-yards were Stebbins and Baker; won by Baker in 24 3/4 seconds. The '85 half-mile run was won by J. H. Gardiner, time, 2 minutes 15 1-5 seconds; S. L. Foster, second; P. L. Livingstone, third. The '85 mile run was won by Root, time, 5 minutes 14 3/4 seconds; Davidson, second, and Bowen, third. The '86 quarter mile was contested by Baker and Stebbins, and was won by the former in 59 1-5 seconds. The '84 mile walk is postponed till 11 A.M. today. The running high jump was won by Soren who jumped 3 inches higher than Denniston, but did not try to break the record. The running of Baker, Stebbins, Johnson and Root was especially noteworthy.
