A croweded house greeted the Hasty Pudding Club on the occasion of the first presentation in Boston of the burlesque, "Conrad and Medora." The performance was in every way a success. The audience were kept in a continual roar of laughter by the ludicrous scenes on the stage, and encores and recalls were numerous. Mr. Sears and Mr. Dorr made the hits of the evening. The former made a pronounced success as Birbanto and his singing added greatly to the pleasure of the evening. Mr. Dorr divided the honors with Mr. Sears. The make-ups of Messrs. Hammond, Minturn, Mandell and Clark were capital. Mr. Lyman and Mr. Clark made quite an impression on the audience. The chorus was very good. The management, Messrs. Dorr. Lyman, Warner and Denniston, are to be congratulated upon the excellence of the general arrangements, to which was largely due the success of the evening.

The following is a synopsis of the play:

ACT I. SCENE 1.MARKET PLACE IN STAMBOUL AND ORIENTAL SLAVE BAZAAR.

The Corsair and his crew - Birbanto resolves (in more senses than one) to strike - Great Sale of wives (beating Smithfield hollow) - Medora, "The Greek Slave" - Startling Situation - Rescue of Lovely Woman in Distress - Elopement of Conrad and Medora.

(There is supposed to be a storm between Scene I. and II. in which Conrad and Medora are wrecked.)

SCENE 2.THE ROADSIDE OF INIQUITY.

The Villians on Deck - The plot thickens.

SCENE 3.THE PIRATE'S HOME - IN HIS OWN RIGHT LITTLE, TIGHT LITTLE ISLAND.

Fearful case of Hocussing and forcible Abduction of a Young Lady - Dissatisfaction amongst the Lower Orders, and Attempts at Rebellion - Conrad wide awake - The Reform Question - The Corsair and the Little Fairy from the Bottom of the Sea.

ACT II. SCENE 1.THE HAREM, WITH THE GARDENS OF THE PASHA'S PALACE.

The Rival Sultanas - Satisfactory Settlement of their Claims - Indisposition of the Pasha and Recovery of Medora - The Dervise - Conrad blows his own Trumpet, but without the success usually attendant upon that common musical feat.

TERRIFIC BROAD-SWORD ENCOUNTER AND AFFECTING TABLEAU.

SCENE 2.THE PRISON CORRIDOR.

Heartrending grief of everybody concerned. (The tears used in this act are supplied by the Boston Water Works.)

SCENE 3.THE HAREM AGAIN.

Don't be alarmed; it won't last long.

ACT III.THE WOODS AND FORESTS.

The Fugitives endeavoring to escape have a Will but have lost the Way - Aggravated Assault by a former Servant - Arrival of the Officers - Capture of Everybody.

CURTAIN.
