Health Officer Lindsley says that there were nine fatal cases of typhoid fever in New Haven during the month of November, and that this implies from 40 to 60 cases of sickness. Dr. Lindsley is among those who believe the typhoid fever at Yale may be due to the proximity of the two pumps on the campus to the drain pipes. He thinks the use of the pumps should be discontinued. It is worthy of note that of twelve men rooming on the entry of Durfee, in front of which is one of the pumps, four have had symptoms of the fever.
