THE NEW SONG BOOK.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A meeting of the committee for a new Harvard song book was held yesterday afternoon. A majority of the committee was present. After Mr. Cushing was elected secretary it was voted that invitations be sent to the leading writers of verses in the college, to induce them to write humorous poems. The committee will choose the best of these, and those chosen will be set to music by others who will be invited to compose. The book is to contain a number of songs entirely new, together with other good and suitable ones collected from the best sources. It is proposed to make all necessary arrangements in order to issue the book the first of next fall. It is something which has so long been desired that its success is undoubted.
