The following are the names and present weights of the candidates for the university and class crews. When the candidates are in bard training, a man's weight may vary several pounds each week, so the weights appended may not be absolutely right, but they are as nearly correct as it is possible to obtain them from the most authentic sources.
There are now eleven candidates for the 'Varsity, whose names and weights are as follows: Hammond, '83 (captain), 185; Curtis, '83, 150; Sawyer, '83, 162; Cabot, '83, 175; Chalfant, '82, 188; Clarke, '84, 187; Perkins, '84, 184; Hudgens, '84, 185; Appleton, '84, 175; King, '84, 172; Woodward, '84, 169.
For the senior crew there are nine candidates. The following are their names and weights: Crehore, 158; Kane, 160; Babcock, 158; Jennings, 158; Sherwood, 152; Clark, 152; Hoyt, 140; Perkins, 160; Goodnough, 156; Oxnard will probably be '82's coxswain. Weight, 115.
There are ten candidates for the junior crew: Burch (captain), 150; Perin, 158; Belshaw, 177; Baxter, 168; Hubbard, 167; Keith, 153; Binney, 155; Sessions, 156; Fox, 154; Coolidge, 155. Their coxswain will probably be Sanger, whose weight is now about 105 pounds.
The candidates for the sophomore crew are as follows: Bryant (capt.), 144; Bacon, 164; Bonsal, 166; Conant, 152; Hutchinson, 164; Walker, 150; Pendleton, 148; Bliss, 157; Le Moyne, 148; Wesselhoeft, 166; Howe, 175.
The weights of the first eight of the freshman crew are as follows: McCook (capt.), 150; O. S. Howard, 155; Kallock, 178; Reed, 157; Yocum, 170; Gilman, 170: keith, 153; Mumford, 146.
