An adjourned meeting of the board of overseers of Harvard College was held Thursday. In the absence of the president of the board, the Hon. Leverett Salstonstall was chosen president pro tempore. The board voted to concur with the president and fellows in appointing as proctors George Lyman Kittredge, A. B., and Herbert Morison Clarke, A. M. The president of the university presented the vote of the president and fellows appointing Oliver Wendell Holmes, M. D., LL. D., Emeritus Professor of Anatomy, in consideration of his many valuable services to the Medical School during the past thirty-five years. Referred to Messrs. Hodges, Lee and Wyman. The president and fellows presented an amended vote upon discipline as follows:

Voted, That in view of the disturbances which occur upon college grounds during commencement week, and the public scandal and evil to the college resulting therefrom, the corporation hold themselves at liberty to revoke the degree of graduate of the university for participating in such disturbances, provided that he has not held the degree for more than one week.

The board voted to concur in this vote. The board also passed the following votes:

Voted, That in the opinion of this board the interest of the college would be promoted if at each commencement the members of the graduating class should be the guests of the Alumni Association at the commencement dinner.

Voted, That the society be requested to send a copy of this vote to the secretary of the Alumni Association for the consideration of the association at its next meeting.
