I. The Plague at Athens, its characteristics and results, with an account of similar occurrences afterwards.

II. A Life of Alcibiades, with an estimate of his character, based upon the History of Thucydides.

III. The Time of the Composition of the History of Thucydides.

IV. An Account of the Life and Works of Demosthenes.

V. An Account of the Senate of Five Hundred and of the Popular Assembly of the Athenians, their Historical Rise, and their Organization in the Fifth Century B. C.

Each subject is accompanied by a copious list of references to various works to aid in preparation of the theses.
